The Power of E-Book Branding

So, you've just purchased an E-Book and it comes with "branding rights". "Hmm," you think, "why would I want to brand an e-book?"  "I don't own a ranch, and I don't have any cattle; isn't that what branding is all about?"

Nope!  Branding is all about YOU making money from someone else's work, and it's 100% legal and ethical.  In fact, the author of the brandable e-book wants you to make money. That's why they made their book brandable in the first place. Branding is a very generous gift that the author of your e-book has built right inside of your copy.  Here's how it works:

You already know how kids will grab the cereal box with the best prize inside right?  Cereal manufacturers know that there are a lot of competing brands on the shelf and they want to make their brand stand out and attract attention.  That's why they put prizes inside of the box.  Well, e-book authors are in a similar position.  They want you to select their e-book over any other e-books that you may be thinking about reading, so they put their own version of a "prize inside" by giving you brandable links.

When you read your e-book you will notice that there are links to products or services that are related to the e-book's subject matter.  These links are known as "affiliate" links.  If you click on any of those links and buy the product or service, the e-book author earns a commission from the owner of the product or service that you just bought.

Think about that for a second.  Suppose the author has hundreds of e-book buyers who click on the links inside of the e-book and buy something -- why that could add up to hundreds of times more profit than the author made selling the book to begin with.  In fact, affiliate links work so well that many authors actually give away their e-books and simply earn their money by people clicking on the affiliate links that are inside of the e-book.

Now, what if all of those affiliate links were yours?  What if you had the right to sell, or give away, the very e-book that came with branding rights? If that was the case then every time someone clicked on any of those affiliate links and bought a product or service, it would be YOU who would earn the commission.  Imagine that.  Depending upon the rights that came with the e-book, you could give away or sell copies of the book and earn a recurring income from the branded affiliate links that are inside!

Good news!  Your brandable e-book is exactly the opportunity that I've just described.  All you have to do is follow these simple steps:

1. Visit each of the sites that are linked inside of your e-book.  When you reach each site there will be a menu option called "Affiliates", or "Opportunity", or "Make Money", or something similar.  Look around and click on all of the menu options.  You'll find the right one.

2. Join the affiliate program for that site.  Some sites let you join without buying the product or service while others do not.  It is always your choice whether or not to brand a particular link in your e-book.  If you choose not to brand one particular link then it will remain branded by the person who did it before you.  That person may be the author, or it may be the person that you got the e-book from.  In any event, you will not earn commissions from any link that you do not brand.

3. Each affiliate program will assign you an affiliate ID.  The affiliate program's manager will usually send you an e-mail with all of the affiliate information that you need to know.  Some will simply display the information on the screen after you join.  Either print the screen or save the e-mail.  You'll need it in the next step.

4. After you have joined all of the affiliate programs that you plan to join, it is time to start branding the links inside of the book.  And that is where I'll back out and turn you over to the very capable hands of the e-book's author.  There are many different e-book branding tools out there and each one works differently.  Read the instructions that came with your e-book's branding utility.  If you don't fully understand those instructions then contact the Webmaster at the site where you received the e-book.  I am sure that you'll find someone there who is eager to help.  If that's not the case, then contact the e-book's author.  I can guarantee you that the author wants you to be able to get those links branded correctly.
